Have a Delicious Drink and Savor the Good Times

Known as the king of cocktails, the martini has entranced many people throughout history and still continues to do so. It is the only mixed cocktail to be surrounded with so many myths and lore. From its mysterious origin to what really makes a martini. It is not only a simple drink to make but it is a delicious one as well. It has been the drink of choice of many famous personalities in the past.

A normal or standard martini is made by blending five parts gin or vodka to one part vermouth. The ingredients are then either shaken or stirred to make a martini. The shaken or stirred question varies from one individual to another. Olives are very popular garnishes used in martinis. Many purists believe that martini should be made only with gin. But there are a lot of people who prefer vodka in the place of gin. This debate has been going around for a long time and certainly doesn’t seem to stop anytime soon.

There are so many different variations of the drink today like the key lime martini and the Mexican martini. The key lime martini and Mexican martinis are also quite popular. To make a key lime martini you have to take and chilled cocktail glass and dip it in rose’s lime juice. Then the rim is twirled around in graham cracker crumbs to get a scrumptious layer of cracker crumbs along the rim. A wedge of lemon can be used as a garnish. While making a key lime martini make sure you use vodka instead of gin. The vodka and vermouth has to be shaken with a cocktail shaker and the drink is poured into the glass. You can now enjoy your key lime martini with relish.

Making a Mexican martini is fun too. The Mexican martini is sweet and has a distinctive milky green color to it. When making a Mexican martini you have to half fill the cocktail shaker with crushed ice. An olive, a splash of lemon lime soda and lime juice has to be added to the shaker. Then two ounces of both orange juice and tequila is then poured into the mix and shaken vigorously. The resulting drink is poured into the glass and ready to be served.

The martini is an iconic drink that has dazzled people with its taste and versatility. Throughout its history it has managed to survive the many rises and falls in popularity to emerge as a delicious drink enjoyed by many.

Creative Wine Bottle Labels Increase Eyeballs

If you drink wine regularly, you may not be too concerned with wine bottle labels. You’re probably more concerned with the taste and quality of your drink than anything else.

Despite all of this, there are many reasons that labels on wine bottles do matter. Not only can they add to the visual appeal of a bottle of wine, but they can be very entertaining at the same time. From a business point of view, they could easily attract attention to a bottle that may not have otherwise been noticed.

Labels on wine bottles can give us insight into what it is that we’re drinking. Whether these are accomplished through theming (i.e. national branding), colors that may indicate the subtlety or boldness of a wine’s flavoring, or simply humor to make us smile, there are many ways that labels will often become associated with a bottle of wine.

There have been plenty of funny and creative wine bottle labels during recent years, and the number of them continues to increase since makers acknowledge the fact that the right label can and will boost sales. Here are two that I’ve really enjoyed.

Ca’ del Solo wine has a very interesting label that certainly got my attention. This label features an evil-looking tiger with a smirk on his face, with an inscription that reads “Bloody Good White” above it.

The language is bold, as is the choice of animal. Both of these things are sure to get a potential buyer’s attention. While I’ve never tried the wine itself, the label was enough to make it memorable.

One more that I’d like to talk about is Cleavage Creek wine. The name should give you an idea as to what this wine label involves, and this Napa Valley cabernet surely draws some attention to the bottle.

This is a bottle of wine that men surely wouldn’t mind looking at!

Prune Juice: A Natural Constipation Treatment

Many people who have read about treatments of constipation have in high likelihood learned about prunes. The prune is often thought of as a good laxative, largely because of the high proportion of dietary fiber by weight. The thing that most people don’t realize is that prune juice alone is an excellent laxative.

The scientific term for the plum is the Prunus domestica, from which prunes are made. Anthropologists studying ancient civilizations have found evidence that cultivation of plums and processing into prunes is a very old activity dating back thousands of years. To this day, the process remains the same. Plums are dried for about 20 hours in hot air just under 100 degrees C. From there, extra processing leads to other prune-derived products.

It’s understood that high fiber helps give prunes its laxative properties for treating constipation. The average amount of fiber in a prune is almost 6% by weight. But there is little or no fiber in prune juice so how can the juice form be of benefit? It turns out that the other major component in prunes which gives it anti-constipation properties is the sugar sorbitol.

Sorbitol is present at almost 15% by weight of prunes, and 6% by weight of prune juice. It’s a complex, polymeric sugar. That means on the molecular scale, it’s a very long chain of sugars. This property allows it to absorb and retain water in the gut as it passes through. In fact, it sometimes is used as a sugar substitute in foods that are labeled “sugar free”.

Other fruits that have high sorbitol include the pear. People who have chewed sugarless gum may have also picked up on the fact that one of the main ingredients is sorbitol. This property plus the fact that it tastes slightly sweet means that it’s made its way into many foods that are touted as low sugar.

How does sorbitol achieve its anti-constipatory effects? There are two properties, both of which have already been mentioned. The first is that sorbitol tends to absorb a lot of water, the second is that sorbitol isn’t metabolized by the body. Together, the effect of sorbitol is to bulk up the colonic mass with a lot of fluids.

The increased water content means that the colonic contents become softer and bulkier. A number of other constipation treatments have similar effects, two classes of which are known by their names osmotic and bulk laxatives. The benefits of prune juice are not restricted to helping stomach contents move faster, but also include important vitamins and sugars for energy. For a simple, natural food, it seems that prunes have many benefits.

The ABC’s of Storing Your Gas Grill

Some people are lucky enough to live in a climate that means their gas grill is in use year-round – but if you’re approaching winter and cookouts have come to an end for the year, it’s time to think about how best to store your grill.

Quality gas grills are a pleasure to use, but they are also an investment that needs to be protected. There can be quite a few steps to making sure your grill is properly cared for, but take it one step at a time and you’ll have everything sorted before you know.

A Is for Assemble

Take about an hour to assemble your supplies. For this step you’re going to need your owner’s manual, a brass bristle brush, a soft cloth, sandpaper, warm, soapy water and a towel. Now move to the next step…

B Is for Briquettes

B is, in fact, for briquettes and cooking grids. These can both get quite greasy after use, so you want to get rid of that grease before you put them in storage. Turn the briquettes over so the greasy side is facing the burner. Keep the cooking grids in their regular place, then light the grill and keep the lid closed. Set the flame to high and leave it for 15 minutes – this should be long enough for the heat to burn the grease off the briquettes and grids.

After everything has cooled off, remove the briquettes and grids and use the brush and the soapy water to clean off any remaining grease. Rinse, dry, and set them aside while you move on to the next step.

C Is for Clogs

You now need to clean the burner and tubes because if they are (or get) clogged with food drippings, they can short out the igniter flame. (And you really don’t want to short out your igniter flame.) While the grill is in storage, spiders and insects sometimes “move into” the gas tubes (aka venturi tubes). Between grease and wildlife, you grill could become hard to start and/or have an uneven flame the next time you try to use it, so be sure all of the components are clean.

First, turn off the gas at the tank if you haven’t already. Take care to follow the instructions in your owner’s manual and unfasten the burner, slip the gas tubes from the gas lines, and remove the unit. Using the soft cloth and soapy water, clean it out. Clean out the tubes with soapy water, too. Make sure you’re thorough and that you don’t leave any dirt or grease behind. Dry the unit and then use toothpicks to clean out the gas ports. Now set everything aside.

D Is for Damage

Damage that you are going to try to prevent, that is. Before you start cleaning the grill housing, which will help you prevent grease buildup and catch any corrosion before it develops, cover the gas orifices with aluminum foil to keep out water. Use the brush and soapy water to clean the grill housing inside and out. Rinse the housing, towel dry, and remove the aluminum foil you put on.

Now it’s time to have a look at the paint on the grill for any damage or chips. Most grills are designed not to rust, however if the paint gets chipped then moisture can weaken them. When the grill is cool and dry, this is the best time to work on the problem by sanding down any damaged areas until you have a shiny white patch. You can then use primer and high heat paint to touch up the area.

E Is for Everything

Put everything — burner, gas tubes, igniter — back together.

F Is for Fuel

Now check the fuel supply to make sure that the propane tanks aren’t rusted or dented. If they are then replace them straight away.

G Is for Goodnight, Grill

Where are you going to store our grill? If it’s a fixed outdoor grill then it’s going to have to stay where it is, and you can keep the propane tank there and connected to it. Make sure you put a protective cover over it. If you keep it inside during the winter then you’re going to have to disconnect the tank and leave it upright outside.

Check your owner’s manual on the correct way to disconnect your tank. Tape plastic bags over the gas line openings of the grill to keep bugs out and store the tank in a cool, shady place away from furnace and dryer vents and children’s and pets’ play areas. Never ever (EVER) store the tank in an enclosed space such as your house, basement, or garage.

H Is for Happy

This is what you’ll be when spring comes around and you suddenly get the urge to start grilling – you’ll be ready to go!

why we choose metal magazine rack

There’s a Metal Magazine Rack Table Lamp on the internet at Target.com which is extremely fascinating. The lamp has a magazine rack as its base so it seems to serve two purposes. I see it serving 3 purposes – it would make the lamp so heavy with magazines in it the children and grandkids wouldn’t simply knock it over and without the magazines on the main coffee table the little ones could play with all their toys there. Is that 4 purposes? Retails for a mere $31.48 and only comes in 1 finish so I would certainly paint it.

Magazine racks might be placed either within the drawing room of a house or in a study or both. The racks placed in a drawing room generally hold magazines or other fascinating materials which the visitors can peruse at their leisure. These magazine racks are employed in offices, banks or in doctors’ chambers for unique purposes. Offices use these racks to store critical work associated documents. In banks these racks are largely set up for the clients; unique forms, brochures, leaflets are kept in these racks to ensure that the clients can see these forms and avail the different schemes. Medical doctors normally keep interesting medical journals in these racks to ensure that the patients can go by way of them though waiting at the chambers; these journals generally offer an intriguing study for the patients.

Magazine display racks are out there in unique kinds. They contain countertop magazine display racks, wall-mounted magazine racks and brochure holders, free-standing magazine display stands, plastic wall-mounted magazine display racks, plastic corner-mounted display racks, and newspaper racks.

These magazine display racks come across their use in schools, churches, businesses, libraries, magazine stalls and waiting rooms. These displays are obtainable in two variations – table-top displays and floor-standing displays. The supplies also vary from wood to glass or plastic.

Magazine racks aren’t just mere piece of furniture. They are incredibly valuable; alongside, they also add beauty to the rooms or the locations where they’re kept. The idea of magazine racks is incredibly old but the contemporary furniture makers have attempted their ideal to give them a contemporary appear.

How To Find A Great Cosmetic Dentist In Philadelphia

Searching for a Great Cosmetic Dentist? Philadelphia is where to look

Has your own reflection inside the mirror been telling you that it might be time for you to get some work done with your smile this year? You can find a great cosmetic dentist; Philadelphia has got the best around.

Here are some key facts to consider when selecting the most appropriate dentist to work on your smile:

What is the Distinction between a Cosmetic and Regular Dentist?

A much better term for the “regular” dentist is actually “general” dentist. A general dentist is taught and certified in dental university, and later on, in ongoing education courses. A good general dentist may be able to relieve your toothache, fill your cavities, crown and bridge the problem teeth and clean and polish your smile. A highly trained dentist focusing on cosmetic procedures could change your smile and redefine and polish your whole countenance!

Asking a general dentist to perform these more intricate and complicated procedures would be similar to asking your family doctor to repair and rebuild your torn up knee, shoulder or perhaps hip. Just as there are specialists in each field of health care there usually are professionals in every field of dentistry.

Specializing in Making you Look Great

General dentists are trained to perform first-aid and repair procedures. Cosmetic dentists are educated to envision, mold and build new possibilities. Whereas general dentists do the job just like an automobile technician, paying attention to making sure that your own gums and teeth function well on a daily basis, they don’t concern themselves with the best beauty that could be produced in a patient’s mouth.

Cosmetic dentists work like artists as well as sculptors, concerned not only with function but furthermore with beauty as well as looks. Cosmetic dentists could be compared to an architect who creates the plans for a stunning new building and then puts on his / her tool belt and begins to create the vision itself.

General dentists are like remodeling contractors who help to make old existing buildings work better but not necessarily more beautiful. Even though they play a critical role in keeping oral performance throughout your life, if you wish to enhance your looks, only a cosmetic dentist can do.

Not just Bridges and Crowns

General dentists have to go through years of education before earning their own license to work. They after that must continually hone, refresh and refine their expertise to keep their licenses. When a dentist decides to specialize in cosmetic procedures he / she sets out on a lifetime, and several hours, of mastering and practicing. Many new procedures and strategies are developed frequently and are designed to help individuals help make the cosmetic alterations they would like.

Picking the Cream of the Crop

One of the issues in selecting a superb cosmetic dentist lies in the truth that there aren’t any legal descriptions that separate the general dentist with the cosmetic dentist. Virtually any general dentist could announce to the world that he / she is definitely an “expert” in cosmetic dentistry. Check each dentist’s qualifications carefully.

There are many excellent training organizations within our nation to help dentists hone their skills in cosmetic procedures. These same organizations can help you find members across the country.

The Greatest Locations To Dine In The Big Apple

When it comes to food cities, New York City is at the top of the list. Any type of cuisine one could want can be had in the Big Apple. But how is a tourist supposed to filter out the good from the bad? Here is a brief guide to some of the best dining neighborhood NYC has to offer

When it comes to the East Village, there is never a shortage of options. I currently live in the East Village and sometimes the number of dining options overwhelms me. Some of the best restaurants in the area include, but are not limited to Graffiti, Hearth and Momofuku Ko. Regardless of what you’re in the mood for, this is certainly an area to get your fix.

The late night dining in the East Village options are some of the best as well, with many restaurants open until 3am.

The West Village has a ton of fantastic restaurants to choose from. Babbo, Little Owl and Dell’Anima are some of my favorites in the area. The restaurants in this part of the city tend to be on the expensive side, so be ready to spend if you’re looking to eat around here.

Tribeca is never at a loss for fine dining. Bouley and Nobu are two of the best restaurants in New York and appropriately, two of the toughest reservations to get.

The consensus when it comes to fine dining has to be Columbus Circle. This small area houses some of the best restaurants in the world. The list goes on and on, but some of the best ones include Per Se, Masa, A Voce, Marea and Jean Georges. That’s a ton of Michelin Stars in such a small area!

One last area that I love is Nolita. It is a small area but packed with great restaurants. Kenmare, Village Tart, and La Esquina are some of my favorites. Peasant is another great one that will make you feel as if you are in Italy. Even the menu is Italian.

So while you obviously can’t go wrong eating in New York, but if you dine in the aforementioned neighborhoods, you’ll be very happy.
